Race Timer

RaceTimer is a simple to use web based race timing solution. It's been developed for use by a small club running their own races, and is now available free to use.

There is no limit to the amount of racers who can be recorded using this software - the limitations are probably down to useability. 30 - 40 should be fine. Over time the software will evolve into using 'bib numbers' which will enable keyboard recording of finishes as well as the current method of mouse-clicks / screen pushes (depending on the device it's run on) - this will make it easier to have a higher number of racers.

The software is currently being enhanced so it'll produce results with age & gender breakdowns too.

When you want to start using the Race Timer, go to the timer page (link above) the first time there will be 1 user called 'temp user' set up. Start by pressing the 'Add Racer' and add the name of a racer - continue to add as many as you need. Once you have added one of your own the 'temp user' row can be removed (by pressing the red 'x' next to the name).

Use the page 'Distance Pacer' to work out your splits for any distance route.

Having used Strava we began to get frustrated by the shortcomings of GPS recording systems - we know of one rider who has taken 2 GPS recording units (made by the same firm) out on the same ride & recorded wildly different times on segments. Whilst RaceTimer in no way takes over from Strava / Garmin Connect etc, it provides a much more accurate timing system for racing, reliability rides, time-trials (and even yard-of-ale recording).
